a night in with thy panda. what a good way to re-start this blog. after previous rants vanishing into inexperienced webhost oblivion, it seemed a good time now to re open the book.
tonight, after finishing work and dealing with post work dramas i was treated to an owed dinner of prawns. no specifications were laid down when the prawn undertaking was taken. i guess it was an impulsive thing on her part, given she seems pretty clued up on all matters cartoon yet she is/was adament that in the jungle the mighty jungle did not appear in/on the lion king. wikipedia tells us otherwise, therefore tonight i dined on prawns, done in a tomato, onion and parsley sauce, with a dribble of cream over some tricked up fettucine. absolutely ripping dinner, devoured over good conversation, champagne, pinot noir, westmalle and john mayer.
i’ve got nothing against john mayer. he sings blissful – if not predictable songs, certainly very good if you’re tuned out. unfortunately tonight, i wasn’t tuned out. i was well switched on, and somewhat infuriated by the predictability of john, and his cd-shuffle stablemate evermore. thank goodness pete murray wasn’t involved, or i may not be here right now writing this delightful post.
i took this oppourtunity (food, booze, no housemates, good stereo) to propaganda my beloved panda.
i’ve thus far bombarded her with bits and bobs of the following;
- Arcade Fire – Neon Bible
- The Music – Strength in Numbers
- Deftones – White Pony
- The Shins – Chutes too Narrow
- Okkervil River – The Stage Names
- Ryan Adams – Love is Hell
- Interpol – Our Love to Admire
- Modest Mouse – Various
Pretty impressive line-up, the only things getting thumbs down were bits of the arcade fire and modest mouse. she’s ace. the end for now.
Here’s a great big FYI;
